Sketching the View & Building Systems for the Long Term
As the new year begins, I've been reflecting on how I approach my creative process—and life in general. This week, I took a quiet moment to sketch the view outside my window, letting my thoughts settle and giving myself a bit of space to breathe. I'm including that sketch—it’s just a quick one, but it felt grounding to capture the moment.
Lately, I’ve also been figuring out how to create automations using make.com to streamline some repetitive tasks. It’s been a learning curve, but every step I take toward simplifying my workflow makes a big difference. These small changes are freeing up more of my energy to focus on what truly matters: creating and sharing art with you.
It’s funny how even small pauses like this can clarify things. I’ve realized that while I might not be working as fast as I want, I am building systems to support myself for the long haul. From automating repetitive tasks to simplifying how I work, these small steps help me focus more on creating and sharing art with you—and less on endless data entry and logistics.
I used to think that time spent figuring out these systems was wasted. Now I see it’s the opposite: every hour I put into streamlining today helps me stay focused and inspired tomorrow. It’s part of adapting to how my brain works and leaning into what I need to thrive.
I hope this little update—and the sketch—gives you a moment to pause and reflect, too. How are you setting yourself up for a new year that feels supportive and intentional?
