- tool that turns markdown in HTML -> Static Site Generator , Quartz , (?HTML exporter?)
- Tool to host this HTML online, on someone else's server or my own, github pages is Free!
quartz

https://github.com/oleeskild/Obsidian-digital-garden
https://dg-docs.ole.dev/getting-started/01-getting-started/ - seems a lots easier than quartz
- no html needed, just uses obsidian styles
- all the settings are right in obsidian,
Blot.im

Steps Taken
Obsidian
- already had it installed and was using it
- created a new Vault and added it to Obsidian Sync
- the new vault will house all the files that will become public
- I plan to edit the blogs same as i have in my usual vaut, them just copy them over to the new vault when they are done and ready to go.

Gave up on Quartz and Decided to go with Digital Garden Plugin
- Found out that Digital Garden DOES have a Rss feed, which was the initial reason I rejected it.
- I want people to be able to subscribe to the RSS feed on their chosen device to this if they feel like it.
- Made the first Github repository I made private, ill decide later if i want to delete it
- Followed the documentation https://dg-docs.ole.dev/getting-started/01-getting-started/
- This was very easy to set up, especially compared to the Quartz headache
Now I need to connect my domains, I want to use the subdomain garden.threeeyes.ca
I was even able to change the domain to one of my choosing to threeeyesgarden.netifly.app
This is wonderful! I can have a nice looking site, with a decent url!
That took like no time at all!
Added subdomain to Netifly
- Wanted to point a subdomain to the digital garden that i already own.
- I added it in Netifly
- then in my Shopify admin I added a CNAME record for ONLY the subdomain
- This ended up being wrong
- I deleted that entry and EDITED the existing CNAME entry witch was pointing to my shopify store
- then i waited about.... 12 hours for the domain to propagate
I now have a Digital Garden!!
Adding Pinterest tag to Garden
- added txt shopify dns records, (main domain is set up with shopify) and it didnt work
- Need to figure out a way to add info to the header
- Tried this Chatgpt Suggestion added to the front matter
dg-home: true
dg-publish: true
dg-metatags:
- name: "p:domain_verify"
content: "your_verification_code"
This didn't work.
On the documentation page, I saw there are "slots" where I can place stuff. I will try to figure this out next.
The steps Chat created for me add html to head of digital garden
