So today I spent a few hours doing the initial setup of Clickup, only to realize that in order to use the one features I want (Gantt charts and timeline views) I need to pay money.
I don't mind paying... once i know the app is right for me... but the set up was such a hassle and the integration with Sunsama isn't great.
Click up was slow and clunky to use, its hard to edit and add tasks and everything so over the top and overwhelming. I don't know why people love this app so much. in order to edit a task name you have to clickl right into it. and dragging stuff around is annoying. and creating dependencies only really works in Gannt view.. But again this is slow and doesn't work as expected.
I feel frustrated and defeated..
But i did learn something... I don't think click up is right for me.. It feels almost exactly like notion but packed with more extra more stuff that i don't need or want.
also, I could build a database with a Gantt chart in Notion, and that does sync with Sunsama.
Regardless, for now I want to set up the other Todoist plugin for obsidian and move my task out of here.

For now, I will use notion for the broad high level planning, it will mean I have to copy all my tasks over AGAIN! but I like notion a lot better than I liked Click up.. If I can just figure out the Sunsama integration I think it'll work really well. On top of that I can create forms for potential clients to fill out.. and all that other stuff that Clickup does, but in a much cleaner way. And there is a full Gantt preview WITH quarterly view.
Who knew that planning was so hard! and i haven't even gotten to the true planning yet, I've just been getting all my Digital assets in one place.
