Today I came across (or was reintroduced) to the idea of a Digital Garden and idea where instead of writing a series of chronological posts then putting them online or into a book, you take all your daily musings and order them chaotically, and cross link them kinda like how obsidian does or how the whole idea of a Second Brain works. And for what ever reason, it really struck a chord with me today.

I had been struggling with this need I had that I didn't know how to articulate or even what exactly that need was. It was coming up from my gut. I knew that it had something to do with blogging and that i wanted it to be freer and that I wanted it to not necessarily be connected to my Art Business or to my clients work but to be its own kinda stand alone thing.

I had tried to make a free blog Obsidian to Blog or How to Create a Digital Garden using a Quartz and learning a whole bunch of coding stuff that I was very unfamiliar with and even as I built that first crappy version I knew this was something that I needed.

This also ties in with having ADHD somehow... I think to do with memory.. and often not really knowing what I do know. Because just one small reminder can have knowledge flowing back but it just doesn't link well in my head.

And I'd like to use obsidian better, and from today onwards I want to make sure I link every note. Even if it's with pages that don't exist.

It can truly be a Second Brain.

But the pull to share it with the world is something else, I'm sure if I read the learning in public book that I've heard mentioned but haven't read, I'll be able to figure it out.. Guess what? it's not a book it's just a concept that been moving around the corner of YouTube I like to live in https://publish.obsidian.md/priscillarolvers/Content/learning+in+public

So anyway, tomorrow I will close down the first attempt at a digital garden and set up a second using the plugin of the same name.

The one caveat I have is that in general I prefer handwritting over typing. But I have found that chat gpt can pretty easily transcribe one of my handwritten notes. And I've done that a couple times now.
